Your Winter Break in Galway

Galway Hotel Offer

Our picture-perfect Victorian hotel is truly enchanting during the holiday season. The opulent splendour of our building comes alive with the hustle and bustle of the festive season. Roaring fires, the scent of real fir trees in the lobby, the chatter of friends and family as they gather from near and far - there’s no better place to experience Galway in the wintertime.

You don’t need to travel too far. The famous Galway Christmas Market in Eyre Square, is right on your doorstep. Its stalls are brimming with gorgeous gifts and treats. Try the traditional chimney cake or some tasty Irish fudge. If you’re brave enough, take a night-time spin on the 105 feet high observation wheel with spectacular views of the city skyline. Or pop into the popular Bier Keller for a traditional German beer.

Wander down Galway’s main street and you’ll find the traditional local market on Church Lane, showcasing superb artisan produce, homemade baked goods and local arts & crafts. The market stands in the shadow of the historic St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church. Dating back to 1320, it’s said that Christopher Columbus visited it on his travels. The church hosts spectacular Christmas carol services that are not to be missed.

Post-Christmas in Galway, you can enjoy live classical music recitals at Music for Galway’s Midwinter Festival in January.

After all that winter fun, there’s a roaring fire waiting for you at The Hardiman. Sink into a comfy chair and let us indulge you with our traditional Afternoon Tea. With dainty finger sandwiches, delicious miniature cakes and freshly baked scones it’s the perfect winter treat!
